Bearfoot Masters are old classic paintings that have been beared up. Bringing the teddy out in classic style in homage to these great paintings. Bearfoot masters were originally conceived by our artist P.M as images for cards and postcards for museums and art galleries, as comical alternatives for those in the know. Bears, however, big-eyed or otherwise, are not ones for taking a backseat in anything and immediately began revealing their own stories as P.M drew. Whatever P.M intended was immediately hijacked by them, so in the end it was simplest just to follow their lead. Bearfoot Masters take on the classic painting The Girl with the Pearl Earing by Johannes Vermeer.

THE PEARL EARRING. J.Vermeer. Once she was in costume Violet swanned up and down, mis-quoting Shakespeare and treating everyone like servants. (For that reason alone the drinks were on her that night.) But it was all taken in good part and, considering it was our first 'proper' photo session everything had run pretty smoothly. Bookings began rolling in from the previously faint-hearted and we all had a good time at the launch party, after the lights, props and costumes were cleared away. Funny, though, we never found that earring afterwards...... P.M.
